Back from Thanksgiving weekend...

The potatoes were very yummy, along with the mushroom gravy, the stuffing, the peas and the home-made punkin pie. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It was hard coming back this morning, but it always is.

How was everyone else's weekends?

Leah said: Hi buddy! My Thanksgiving was great. The potatoes are always my favorite! My turkey turned out good, but he came with two hearts, so I had to feed one to Penny. I'm still freaked out about the two heart thing though....
I made two pumpkin pies and ate none of them(Not my fave), but I got rave reviews again this year.

Poor turkey. I think it's sad that we kill turkeys just to show how much we are able to consume on one day of the year.

Can't we substitute...? Why does it have to be a day of dead-bird worship?

Leah said: I was just reading your blog about thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, technically, shouldn't be about dead bird worship(I agree) OR mushroom gravy worship. Thanksgiving is NOT about a table full of food, or a day off or even a long weekend. Thanksgiving should be about giving thanks for what we have, even if the table is empty. But I agree, poor two hearted turkeys. These holidays have become soooo commercialized they disgust me. No one cares about giving thanks for what they already have, it's all about getting more, more, more. It's pretty sad really...I'm glad we were raised to give to others at this time of year, instead of making lists of possesions we WANT, not need. Thats what Thanksgiving is to me. Thanks buddy.
